Best Type of Water to Drink

pH levels should be 6.5-8.5. pH is a measurement of electrically charged particles in a substance. It indicates how acidic or alkaline based that substance is. Acidic water is considered to have a pH lower than 7. Acidic water with a pH of less than 6.5 is more likely to be contaminated with pollutants. Alkaline water has pH of 8 or above. Once you get above a pH level of 8.5 or more, the water starts to taste bitter. While this higher pH doesn’t pose any health risks, it can cause skin to become dry, itchy and irritated. However, water high in alkaline could further change the pH level and disturb normal levels of important minerals such as potassium. This could be a particular concern if you have kidney disease. Pure water with a pH of 7 is considered neutral.
This week I'm reviewing Mountain Valley Spring Water (sourced from Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas. It is known for its purity and mineral content, such as calcium and magnesium. It has a nice taste - clean and crisp, and it's levels are good with a TDS level of 220 and a pH of 7.2-7.4.
